| My current paintings all start with an idea about color, space and shape relationships. As the painting progresses, new relationships are discovered which is what makes the process exciting. The finished work reminds me of the universe that we live in and how vast, varied and mysterious it is and probably will always be... |

In January 2009, I decided I would concentrate my painting efforts on creating abstract images. My painting style before this was always semi-abstract in that I created figurative and landscape work that would generally be described as an impressionistic / expressionistic painting style. Being a psychology major as an undergraduate student, I have always been intrigued with abstract art and the artist's who make it. |
